EKF AGM 2013 Notice

Dear Head of Association – Members

As you might have been aware, today Sunday 7 July, the English Karate Federation held its AGM. Unfortunately the meeting was not quorate on both times of asking. This meant that under 19.25 of the Articles of Association the Associations could not vote on a new Board.

"The AGM shall be deemed valid at the first call if at least 1/2 (half) of affiliated Member Associations in possession of voting rights are present, or at the second call, 1 (one) hour later, if at least 1/3 (one-third) of affiliated Member Associations in possession of voting rights are present. If finally a valid AGM is not possible for reasons of quorum, the EKF Board will convene right after the cancellation of the AGM, with the same agenda as published for the AGM, and with equivalent powers as that of the announced AGM with exception to Article 45 of these statutes."

The Board did convene straight afterwards and have elected an interim Board; these are President David Ticky Donovan OBE, Vice President Michael Billman, Company Secretary John De Bono, Treasurer Mark Symonds, Board Members; Christopher Thompson, Steve Coupland, Ivor Thomas, Andrew Genery, John Moreton, Sarah Knight & WKF Representative Michael Dinsdale.

A new date for the AGM has been provisional booked for Sunday 1 December 2013.
