The British Home Nations Championships 2013
The British Home Nations championships will take place at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow on Sunday 2nd June 2013. The BKF AGM and Executive will also take place that day.
The BKF referees commission, which is currently being formed in association with the four NGB`s recommendations, are planning to hold a refereeing seminar on the day previous, Saturday June 1st. The seminar, hosted by Dale Gamble, will be in two parts, covering the new 2013 Kata rules, including impaired kata guidelines, and revising the 2012 kumite rules.
This seminar will be open to all four nations NGB officials and our respective national senior, junior and fringe squad members.
Following lunch, Ryan Freckleton a former member of Olympic team GB will host a seminar on elite athlete performance. This is an area which all the major countries are developing and will give us an insight into how athletes prepare at Olympic level. This seminar is open to all NGB members from 14 years of age and over.
The British Open will take place on September7/8th at the same venue. This is a change from the original date in October but we are keen to avoid a clash with the English Open. September the 7th is also significant as that is the date on which the new Olympic sport for 2020 will be confirmed, let’s hope it is a celebration.
Both bulletins will be released shortly after the event team meet with the Emirates manager this coming weekend, essentially the categories are the same as in 2012. Details regarding the seminars will also be available in the very near future.
The BKF would like to thank the SKGB for their support and cooperation in arranging these events.
