Regional Training serves as a crucial step in the development pathway from club/association towards the national team. It's designed to enhance your techniques, tactical abilities, and overall knowledge of karate. Additionally, it provides a platform for talent identification and nurturing towards the National squad.
To participate in Regional Training, individuals must be at least 10 years old and hold a minimum rank of 5th Kyu in karate. This ensures that attendees possess a basic standard of karate and are actively grading at their respective clubs.
To join the Regional Squad, athletes need to be at least 10 years old and hold a minimum rank of 5th Kyu. Selection onto the squad is based on performance and commitment, and athletes must compete to maintain their place on the squad. You must have permission from your Instructor/
The Regional Squad is divided into two main disciplines: Kata and Kumite.
Participation in the Regional Squad serves as a pathway to the National England Squad. Once an individual's instructor has approved their attendance at Regional Training, regular participation is expected. There are also opportunities to represent your regional squad in Competitions.
Yes, athletes must possess a valid EKF license to register for Regional Training. Additionally, athletes must hold a full British Passport and reside in England. For individuals who have represented another country or one of the other home nations, WKF rules apply.
