The Cadet, Junior & U21 European Karate Championships in Bielsko-Biała, Poland, have come to a close, and what a competition it was for Team England! Over the course of the event, our talented athletes showcased incredible skill, determination, and resilience, proudly representing the English Karate Federation on the international stage.
A Championship to Remember
From the moment our squad arrived in Poland, there was a buzz of excitement. For many, this was their first taste of a major European championship, while for others, it was another step in their journey towards international success. The atmosphere in the venue was electric, with the best young karateka from across Europe battling for podium places.
Our athletes fought hard, performed beautifully, and left everything on the tatami. Whether it was through stunning kata performances or high-intensity kumite matches, every competitor gave their all. It wasn’t just about the medals—it was about development, experience, and taking steps forward as a team.

A Team Effort
Behind every performance was a team of coaches, staff, and supporters working tirelessly to ensure our athletes were ready. Head Kata Coaches Julian Mallalieu & Kelly Horsfall, Head Kumite Coach Jory Chather, and Assistant Kumite Coaches Satinder and Andrew Walters played a pivotal role in guiding the squad through the event, providing expert insight, motivation, and tactical support.
A special mention goes to Warm-up Athlete Joby Wilson, who helped prepare the team, ensuring they were physically and mentally ready for competition.
We would also like to extend our gratitude to our amazing chaperone, Kasia, who was an integral part of the team. Her support, organisation, and dedication behind the scenes helped keep everything running smoothly, allowing our athletes to focus on their performances.
