Mental Health

We are proud to have committed to embedding mental health within karate and creating a cultural shift within our organisation.

If you need immediate help:

In an emergency:

- Call 999 or go to your local A&E department

If you’re in crisis and need to speak to someone:

- Call NHS 111 (for when you need help but are not in immediate danger)

- Contact your GP and ask for an emergency appointment

- Contact the Samaritans (details below)

- Use the ‘Shout’ crisis text line – text SHOUT to 85258

The EKF are aware of the importance of looking after mental health as well as physical health for our health and wellbeing. Therefore, for those who are experiencing and suffering difficulties with their mental health the EKF would like to alert Members to a range of helpful resources.

Whether you are a coach looking to gain a better understanding or someone looking to get into karate, you will find plenty of useful links and information below on metal health.
