Sensei Julian Mallalieu, 7th Dan

Sensei Julian Mallalieu began his karate journey in 1977 under the tutelage of Sensei Damien Mcloughan as a member of the SKU. With a profound dedication to the martial arts, he has trained under the renowned Fumio Demura for 24 years. Demura, celebrated for bringing Shito-ryu karate to the USA, was also a master of traditional Okinawan weapons and famously taught Bruce Lee the double nunchaku.

Over the years, Sensei Julian has demonstrated exceptional commitment to his students, coaching and supporting them to achieve their best. His expertise has guided many to become English, British, Commonwealth, and WKF Youth League Champions. Sensei Julian’s passion for karate is evident not only in his teaching but also in his competitive success in kata on the international stage.

Since 1996, he has been the driving force behind Tameside Karate, fostering a community of skilled and dedicated martial artists. Sensei Julian Mallalieu’s career is marked by his unwavering dedication, passion, and commitment to the art of karate and his students.
