48th EKF Senior Championships Budapest, Hungary - Day 5
An early start again for the Kata teams, despite a little more trouble with the transfer from the hotel, the male and female teams managed to get to the venue on time. Both the kata teams lost in the first round, the girls to Belarus and the boys to Turkey. Both teams were later knocked out so no Repecharge for either team.
The male kumite team were next up facing Germany, a very tough battle ensued, with England losing, and as Germany were knocked out later by France, there was no Repecharge for England.
The opening ceremony commenced at 6.00pm with a parade by the athletes and an impressive display of acrobatic baseball, a demonstration of strength and agility from an acrobatic team and Japanese drummers.
With more delays with the transport back to the hotel, we managed to get back by begging lifts squeezing into cars and finally made it back to the restaurant at 9.00.
A long tiring day today, but very enjoyable
The best of luck to Natalie Williams and Jon Mottram in the Repecharge finals.
